Six rigs, 631 piles: foundations for a Launceston data centre
3 November 2026
Bored piling for Hansen Yuncken at St Leonards, with up to six rigs mobilised at once to compress the programme.
As piling subcontractor to Hansen Yuncken, BridgePro supplied and installed 900 mm diameter bored concrete piles for a data centre development at St Leonards: 319 reinforced and mass concrete piles between 3 m and 18 m long for the main structure, and a further 120 and 192 piles for the associated equipment pads, 631 piles in all.
Reinforcing cages were fabricated in-house, pile positions were set out by GPS, and driven PDA testing was used to reduce overall pile lengths. BridgePro mobilised within four weeks of award and brought up to six bored piling rigs to site at the same time, giving each work area a four to five week duration rather than a sequential programme. QA and ITP records were captured in BridgePro OS as the work progressed.
The job is a working example of the multi-rig, multi-method approach we bring to high pile-count programmes. Read the project page.
