BridgePro Engineering is a leading Tasmanian contractor specialising in innovative and high-quality end-to-end solutions, from concept to construction.

How we deliver

We can deliver construct only, but our real strength is getting involved early: interrogating the problem, testing constructability and shaping the solution before it is locked in.

BridgePro delivers through early contractor involvement, design and construct, construct only and collaborative contract models, carrying design responsibility in-house where the client wants it. Our projects range from one hundred thousand to tens of millions of dollars, for asset owners including TasPorts, Hydro Tasmania, TasWater, the Department of State Growth, Grange Resources and local councils, and as a specialist subcontractor to McConnell Dowell, BMD, Hazell Bros, Gradco, Fulton Hogan, VOS and Shaw.

Delivery models

Four ways we contract, one way we work

Early contractor involvement

We join the client and designer before the design is fixed, bringing constructability review, temporary works and marine methodology, and in-house barge stability, towage and structural capacity verification. The record shows it: an optimised design at the Port of Stanley, and a Berth 5 West RoRo wharf redesigned from rock fill to a piled structure with first berthing within seven weeks.

Design and construct

Our specialty. BridgePro engineers carry design responsibility for permanent and temporary works, with proof engineering from long-standing partners where a scope calls for it. Warrawee Suspension Bridge, the Devonport 2 West tug berth pontoon and the King Island RoRo wharf were all delivered design and construct, and all won CCF Earth Awards.

Construct only

Under AS 2124, AS 4000 and minor works forms, with constructability review and value engineering offered at tender. Our bridge strengthening work for the Department of State Growth has been delivered this way since 2017, and Full Austroads prequalification (R3, B4, BM, F25) covers the state road and bridge network.

Collaborative and subcontract

Bespoke lump sum, ECI-to-D&C and collaborative models, and specialist marine, piling and precast packages for tier 1 head contractors: 42 piers and a 360 m temporary bridge on the New Bridgewater Bridge for McConnell Dowell, the Spirit of Tasmania Terminal 3 shore ramp for BMD, and secant-piled pump stations for the CPB UGL joint venture.

Why self-perform matters

Our plant, our engineers, our fabrication, our people

Less reliance on third-party hire means more programme certainty. When the rig, the barge, the crane, the precast bed and the engineer who designed the lift all belong to the same company, the programme commitment is ours to keep.

Where we add value early

Get us in before the design is fixed

  1. Constructability reviewSequencing, access, plant selection and site conditions tested against the concept before it is locked in.
  2. Temporary works and methodologyFalsework, access, lifting, pile gates and marine temporary works designed and certified in-house.
  3. Marine engineering checksBarge stability, towage analysis and structural capacity verification, done by our own engineers.
  4. Digital captureLiDAR, sonar and reality capture to plus or minus 5 mm, so the design starts from what is actually there.
  5. Value engineeringDesign, cost, constructability and performance considered together, often saving clients significant cost.
