Demolition & Decommissioning

Although we generally demolish in order to reconstruct, we also deliver demolition-only projects, on land and over water.

We understand that when constructing a project for future generations, it often means starting with a clean slate.

Demolition

Demolition is the first stage of many of our reconstruction projects. As a result, we are experienced and equipped to undertake demolition-only projects. Whether it’s steel, concrete, or timber structures – we’ve got you covered when you need to bring something down.

Our specialised equipment includes:
  • High reach and long reach excavators
  • Excavator attachments including concrete crushers and pulverisers, rock breakers, steel shears, and specialist grabs and buckets
  • Crawler cranes from 50t to 275t
  • Hydro-demolition, wire rope saws and floor saws (up to 525mm cut depth)
  • Steel cutting by shears, plasma, air arc lance and oxy-acetylene, including remote cutting for controlled collapse

We demolish complex structures in steel, concrete or timber in accordance with AS 2601 and hold a CBOS Demolisher licence (Open). Specialist operations have included the controlled collapse of the 680-tonne P6 portainer crane at the Port of Burnie, winner of a 2020 Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Award, the removal of concrete piles in 20 m of water, and heavy lifting over live port operations.
