West Tamar Highway Upgrade, Legana

Bored piles and retaining walls that made room for two lanes in each direction.

BridgePro worked with Andrew Walter Constructions on the West Tamar Highway Duplication Project at Legana, between Freshwater Point Road and Acropolis Drive. The upgrade creates two lanes in each direction to improve safety and traffic flow for Legana and the wider West Tamar.

Our role was the retaining wall construction, including around 200 bored foundation piles drilled with our Soilmec SR-75, which at almost 80 tonnes is the biggest foundation drill rig ever based in Tasmania, and barrier installation along the new alignment.

The works were delivered in 2025. Thank you to Andrew Walter Constructions, our project partners and the Legana community for their patience throughout.

Client: Andrew Walter Constructions

Location: West Tamar Highway, Legana, Tasmania
